The IB Teacher’s Starter Kit:

Everything You Need

for a Confident Start to your IB Journey

Who is this course for?

Who Should Enrol

This course is designed for educators who want to start their IB journey with confidence and clarity, especially those who:

  • Are new to the IB and want to understand what makes IB education unique.

  • Have just accepted a role in an IB programme (PYP, MYP, or DP) and want to feel prepared from day one.

  • Have just joined an IB school and need practical guidance to get started.

  • Are transitioning from a national curriculum and want to translate their experience into the IB context.

  • Feel unsure about IB terminology and frameworks and would value a clear, structured introduction.

  • Want to understand how the IB philosophy connects to classroom practice.

  • Want to make a strong first impression in their new IB school by understanding key principles from the start.

Who Should Not Enrol

While this course is designed to support a wide range of educators, it may not be the right fit if you:

  • Already have several years of IB teaching experience and are looking for advanced pedagogical training.

  • Expect in-depth subject-specific guidance; this course focuses on core IB principles that apply across disciplines.

  • Are looking for official IB certification or accreditation; this is an independent professional development course.

  • Do not currently work in, or plan to work in, an IB school, and are not seeking to understand the IB system.

  • Are not ready to engage in reflective practice or consider how IB principles can influence teaching.

  • Do not see the value in connecting teaching to a broader international and learner-centred philosophy.
