European Day of Languages

Since 2001, September 26th has marked the European Day of Languages, celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity. This year's theme, "Languages for Peace," reminds us of the key values that come from embracing these differences—empathy, freedom, respect, and solidarity. Languages open doors to new perspectives and ways of thinking, serving as mirrors for self-reflection. As Goethe wisely noted 5 centuries ago, “Those who know nothing of foreign languages know nothing of their own.” Wherever you are today, take a moment to reflect on the value of linguistic and cultural diversity. How might this awareness enrich both your personal and professional life? What opportunities could it bring? #EuropeanDayofLanguages#languagesforpeace#lifelonglearning.
